I just wanted to update you on the happenings at Newt's John Wayne Site. CLICK HERE for a list of films starring John Wayne on TV showing this month.

• Time for another contest, Pilgrims. The Spring 2006 John Wayne Contest is here and it is a doozy. There won't be any trivia this time, just a straight random drawing. There will be three prize packages, yes, you heard right, prize packages. Each prize package will contain 3 John Wayne 8 x 10 photos, a 11 x 14 print, a U.S. Postal Service John Wayne commemorative stamp First Day Cover, and a John Wayne commemorative knife.
  

  For this contest please enter only once, multiple entries will not improve your chances of winning, your name will be entered only once regardless of the number of entries you submit. The deadline to submit your entry is Midnight March 31, 2006 (Pacific Time). So, stop burning daylight and enter the Spring 2006 John Wayne Contest.

• Batjac and Paramount Home Entertainment will be releasing a Special Collector's Edition DVD of Seven Men From Now (1956) on Tuesday, December 20, 2005. This film went missing after Wayne's death in 1979 (along with several others). It's success had inspired its star Randolph Scott, its director Budd Boetticher, and its screenwriter Burt Kennedy to collaborate on three other remarkable Westerns--The Tall T (1957), Ride Lonesome (1959), and Comanche Station (1960)--which, because they weren't made for Batjac, we've had little trouble seeing over the years. This film became legendary, a Holy Grail for film buffs. Now, with a beautiful restoration on DVD, it gets to be a movie again. A great one, read the press release.
  

  Turner Classic Movies cable channel (TCM) will feature a one-time premiere of of this film on December 21, 2005 preceded by the documentary Budd Boetticher: A Man Can Do That. It is narrated by Ed Harris and Executive-Produced by Clint Eastwood. Check your local cable listings for times in your area.
