Just a short note to remind you of John Wayne's upcoming 99th birthday on May 26, 2006. Check out Turner Classic Movies (TCM) movie channel for the John Wayne Birthday Film Tribute. Also check out the Duke films list over the Memorial Day Week-End on TCM.
You are probably wondering why I am just recommending TCM. For one thing I am personally boycotting AMC, their constant interruptions of the films make it impossible to enjoy a movie. TCM shows their films uncut and uninterrupted. And, by the way, AMC is not showing a single John Wayne film on his birthday nor the entire Memorial Day week-end.
I have organized a John Wayne Birthday Pot Luck where I work, they are becoming converted to Duke fans or at least tolerating my obsession. Any excuse for a Pot Luck. I work at a prison so I won't be able to take any pictures of the event but I will post a picture of the cake on the home page Friday evening.
