In I Cover The War, John Wayne is Bob Adams, ace newsreel cameraman for the Atlas Newsreel Company. As his boss says, "Get the picture, we can't screen alibis." After covering the Spanish Civil War, he is recalled to the London office and dispatched to North Africa with his pal Elmer Davis (Don Barclay) to cover an impending uprising against the British.
There, two gun runners, Graham and Parker, are posing as rival cameramen and have recruited Wayne's younger brother Don (James Bush) as an unwitting ally after Wayne has refused to help him become a cameraman. Wayne and his pal set out to locate and film the rebel leader, El Kadar, they become instead his captives, but escape in time to save a whole company of British lancers. He gets his pictures but only after a romance with the Colonel's daughter Pamela.
